How To Approach Moving Day | Strategies To Make Things Easier
You’ve done all the packing and work leading up to hauling day, and now it’s time to either start loading the truck you’ve rented, or wait for the relocators to arrive. In either case, you’ve done all of the planning and taken care of the logistics and it’s time to get to work and shift into your new home. Moving day can bring its own set of challenges if you’re not prepared so it’s important to make sure that you have all your ducks in a row so that there are no missteps along the way. Here are some of the most important things to keep in mind.
Have A Good Breakfast
You’ve done all the packing and work leading up to moving day, and now it’s time to either start loading the truck you’ve rented, or wait for the haulers to arrive. In either case, you’ve done all of the planning and taken care of the logistics and it’s time to get to work and relocate into your new home. Transporting day can bring its own set of challenges if you’re not prepared so it’s important to make sure that you have all your ducks in a row so that there are no missteps along the way. Here are some of the most important things to keep in mind.
Wear Comfortable Clothes
Be prepared to do some work, even if you do hire a carrier to help. After the truck has been loaded with all your belongings, you’ve still got to consider cleaning up and making sure you leave your previous home in the best condition possible. Wear loose fitting clothing that’s easy to shift around in so that you don’t risk ripping or tearing your nicer clothes, and also so that you have ease of movement for all that you need to do. Treat it similar to what you might wear to a gym or fitness center and wear something that you’re not afraid to sweat in or get dirty.

Do A Thorough Walk Through
Whether you’ve been renting or own your home, you’re going to want to do a thorough walk through to document the condition you’ve left the home in. Taking photos is advisable, especially to document any damages. That way, you’ll be able to present evidence of the condition you left the home in to make sure you either get your full deposit back, or to guard against being liable for any damages done by the next tenant.
Have Cleaning Supplies At the Ready
Cleaning is usually the last step of the process of moving out, but you’ll want to be sure that you’re ready to take care of everything before it’s time to start cleaning. Having all the supplies you need at the ready is key to making sure you don’t end up having to run to the store for extra trash bags, paper towels, or other cleaning supplies. Once you get to this point in the process of transporting out, you’ll be thankful that you’ve already taken care of everything you’ll need to finish the job.
