Best Options For Styling Your Driveway
Along with a well landscaped yard, a stylish driveway can add a lot of spice to your home since it’s one of the most visually prominent aspects of the entry to your home. We can all appreciate a nice yard or garden due to the visual appeal they provide, but a driveway with some style is not only eye-catching, but also useful. There are a few driveway options which stand out above the rest as both useful and appealing, which we’ll go over briefly in the paragraphs below.
Gravel
If cost and simplicity of implementation are concerns, there is no better option than a nicely levelled gravel driveway. Gravel is versatile as well since you can choose from a variety of colors and types of stone. There are, however, a couple of things you will need to keep in mind with a gravel driveway since it does require some occasional monitoring and upkeep. Gravel can scatter when driven over frequently, as it will be in a driveway, so you may want to build some edges around the perimeter. Likewise, tire tracks will embed in the gravel and create “tracks” over time, which may need to be levelled.
Asphalt
Asphalt is a classic choice for a driveway since it’s easy to drive on and is functional in a variety of different settings, from rural to suburban. It also stands up well to different weather conditions, which makes it a good choice if you live in an area with that experiences extreme seasonal changes. It also works well with landscaping if you feel inclined to surround your driveway with plants since there is a clear edge to work with when parking and driving.

Brick
If you prefer something that is both stylish and functional, a brick driveway is a good choice. It’s not cheap to install, but it will stand up to the test of time and add an element of style to any driveway. Sealing is important with a brick driveway so that it stays in good shape and maintains its color, but it’s minimal work for the long-lasting nature of the surface and the overall performance and look.
Cobblestone
Much like brick, cobblestone can offer a classic pattern to your driveway, but with more options. Streets and walkways around the world are designed with cobblestone (which is much more pleasant on the tire than the shoe) and create an old time or European feel that adds a hint of sophistication to the front of any garage or home. The catch with cobblestone is that it’s more costly than a brick driveway, but the difference will definitely make you stand out from your neighbors.
Roundabout
A roundabout driveway focuses more on shape than texture so it can be applied to any of the other options mentioned here, but it’s one of the more functional options as far as driveway usage goes. The concept is pretty simple in that there are two entry points to the driveway, which is very helpful if you have multiple vehicles that need an easy way to get in and out. It can be tricky if you have multiple guests, but if the roundabout is wide enough, it’s actually much easier to navigate.
