How Much Does It Cost To Ship A Container To Romania?
Romania Container Shipping Cost
It is quite taxing to move items from one location to another. When it comes to delivery from one country to another, however, the situation is much more complex. Due to the large distance to be traveled, many things can go wrong.
Fortunately, Three Movers is a shifting service company that can help you understand all of the aspects that govern international shipping rates. With the services we provide, you can rest assured that your shipment is in good hands.
One of the countries to which we ship containers is Romania. This article will explain the rates at which a container can be shipped, as well as the factors that determine them.
Factors That Affect the Costs of Shipping
The rate of relocating containers to different countries is influenced by many factors, but five are particularly crucial. You must be aware of them before sending your items due to their importance. Aspects to consider include the amount or weight of shipments, the form of transportation, the distance the shipment must travel, the destination port, and the time of year.
The shipping method to use is determined by the volume or weight of the air cargo hauling boxes. The price of freight is affected by whether you choose air transport or sea shipment. You get to choose whether you want to go the pricey but quick route (air freight) or the slower but less expensive route (ocean cargo). You can get an estimate of your transferring cost with our online haul calculator.
In every country's destination port, customs duties and service charges are unavoidable, but they vary from one to the next. Each country determines the amount of customs duties and taxes you must pay.
The price will also be decided by the time of year when the shipment takes place. During the peak season, which spans from August through October, shippers and retailers are busiest. This is because shipping prices have risen as a result of increased demand for goods.
Which Size of Transporting Container Is Best for Me?
There are around 16 different types of relocation available today. Depending on the size and fragility of the items, you can transport them to Romania in either a 20ft or 40ft container.
A 20ft container is roughly the size of three bedrooms if you're not sure what size to acquire. It has the capacity to accommodate 168 Nascar tires or 4000 shoe boxes, but the 40-foot container has the capacity to house twice as much.
Despite the fact that the capacity of the 40ft and 20ft containers are considerably different, the 40ft container does not usually cost twice as much as the 20ft.

Understanding the Different Types of Freight Transportation
For delivering goods, there are various kinds of transportation, but two are particularly crucial for shipping containers. They are air or marine cargo systems. You should choose a freight solution based on delivery time and cost.
Air cargo is the most cost-effective way to deliver goods rapidly, but it is more expensive than sea delivery. Sea transport is less expensive, but it is frequently slow. You can save up to 80% of the money you would have spent on air freight by using the sea shipment method of transportation.
Additional Transferring Rates
Some additional charges you might probably pay when shipping to Romania or other international countries include:
- Customs duties
- Container inspection fees
- General Rate Increase
- Inland delivery charges
- Quarantine fees
- Insurance fees

In Romania, the standard rate of VAT is 19% and applies to the base of taxation for any taxable operation that is not exempt, or that is not subject to the reduced VAT rate. A reduced rate of 9% applies for services and goods such as prostheses of any type and accessories, except for dental prostheses, deliveries of orthopedic products, medicines for human use and veterinarian use, accommodations within the hotel sector, or with a similar function, such as campgrounds. The same reduced rate also applies to books, newspapers, and tabloids, including textbooks, except for advertising.
Given the magnitude of EU imports every year, it is essential that the value of such commerce is accurately measured for:
- Economic and commercial policy analysis
- Application of commercial policy measures
- Proper collection of import duties and taxes
- Import and export statistics

In some cases, containers might get lost, destroyed, or even stolen. Even the number of lost containers every year is staggering! To prevent paying for additional costs, ensure that you can present your Bill of Lading with you to shield the cargo against inevitable losses. In the event of failure, cargo insurance policies indemnify the cargo motive. Most shipping insurance policies are underwritten on an “all-risk basis.”
Yes, you should be physically available when the container arrives. You must sign specific documents. It would help if you also supervised the moving crew when the container comes, but you may also allow a different person to manage.
