If you are moving overseas from Australia, you will have two main shipping options: Air freight or sea freight. Let’s talk about these two options.

Air Freight

Air freight shipments is the quickest and most expensive option. Air freight is generally only used for lightweight items, in part due to the fact that the international moving costs of air freight overseas moves are calculated by the higher number between actual weight and chargeable weight. Chargeable weight is a measure of volume that requires a mathematical formula.

Here are some of the rules you must follow for air freight.

Your individual boxes cannot weigh more than 100 lbs. each.

When you choose to ship your items via LCL, you end up sharing your container with other people. The additional handling this requires could delay your shipment by weeks.
