1. Invest in high-quality packing supplies

You may not want to spend too much on boxes and tape, and other packaging materials because you’ll only use them once, but cheaper isn’t better here. You want to make sure your boxes will be able to hold their contents for extended periods without falling apart, and that they’re sealed and padded properly to prevent the items from getting damaged.

Free grocery boxes are not ideal for packing and will become damaged easily by moisture or weight. Moving boxes aren’t that expensive considering the risk, and you can easily order some online.

2. Create an inventory and go in with a game plan

You can’t get up one day and start tossing items into boxes. If you do so, you’ll only be setting yourself up for failure. Start by creating a game plan. Figure out which rooms/offices/areas you want to tackle first, and lay out the appropriately sized boxes and packaging materials.
